Welcome to the Mobility Page's Substack.
Cars are evolving into computers and more and we want to cover the business and technology side of companies making this possible.
The automotive industry started of as a product built by foundries and workers in the 18th century that has evolved to a product that requires input from tech teams. Uber changed the way taxi demand has been fulfilled, google maps has redefined how drivers navigate and new consumer personas demanded that the modern automobile needs to take it a step further than increasing the speed of travel; it had to have rich Corinthian leather, or a screen that’s big enough to doodle on, or an infotainment system that wished the driver “Happy Birthday”.

The car has evolved into a tech product today, and Mobility Pages wants to capture the journey from all angles. Reviewing and analyzing all the players making this transformation possible.
The top trends shifting the industry today in our view are:
Electric Mobility
Autonomous Driving
Connected Mobility / Big Data / IoT / Cybersecurity / AI-ML
Smart Cities / Digital Infrastructure
Climate Tech / Sustainability
Alternative Fuels / Energy Storage
Additive Manufacturing / Robotics & Automation / Smart Materials
Mobility as a Service
This list is not complete and there are so many more disruptions happening in the age old automotive industry that’s changing the way cars are created and used.
We are a team of engineers and automotive enthusiasts based in India but we are interested in shedding light on the global scene of mobility to help our readers with a range of insights.
Diversity of ideas can move mountain like markets; Take the example of Honda’s entry into the US motorcycle market in 1959, that lead them to build a billion dollar enterprise displacing the British manufacturers (who had a 49% market share in 1959 and 9% in 1975). The Japanese products were always positioned as products that were built small and reliably; and the Super Cubs and later Honda’s Kei cars were built with vastly different ideas but they were able to stay niche, thoughtful and innovate, inspite of facing huge headwinds one may face when facing an unfamiliar culture / environment thrown into the game of international business.
Our database contains hundreds of global companies (categorized based on product areas) that are racing to make use of the opportunity to serve the transportation need for human beings. And at Mobility Pages we want to explore the canvas and throw light on the progress and learnings of these companies.
So subscribe today to explore the world of mobility with us. We can’t wait to share our insights with you.
